This year CAP officially opened their “Wrapped in Love” Campaign. The agency receives annual donations of scarves, hats and gloves of all sizes & designs – both hand-made and purchased. Beginning in November, when the temperature drops, our Housing Team distributes 20-30 sets of these items in local communities, tying them to fences, trees, poles and other approved locations to provide protection and warmth from the elements for those in need. For the past three years, Community Action Partnership staff have been concerned about the harsh weather conditions and the families who do not have scarves, hats and gloves to combat the cold. CAP was able to provide this service to three villages/cities – Oneida, Chittenango and Canastota. In Canastota a special rack was constructed by town officials to hold the sets of scarves, hats and gloves. This is just one more of the ways CAP impacts the MadisonCounty community! Since 1983 CAP has been providing a refuge and safe environment for families, children, adults and the community. CAP current operates 11 programs focused on helping households meet their diverse needs – from housing, food insecurity, employment, transportation and mentoring to parenting skills, pre-natal and infant nutrition, counseling, and family stability. Please contact Sandi Bain at 315 697-3588 Ext. 14 if you are interested in expanding or participating in the “Wrapped in Love” campaign for this winter season.
