To the Editor:

I am a member of Reality Check, a group that works to reduce youth exposure to tobacco marketing in stores and on screen. I am in eighth grade.

I am writing to you because I don’t think its right for tobacco to be sold or at least not have so many ads in the stores that are within walking distance of schools. Tobacco marketing near schools impacts the students. Students who go to school near stores that sell tobacco are more likely to smoke.

There is a nice store within walking distance of my school that unfortunately sells tobacco. I just don’t want that for my community. I don’t think it needs to sell tobacco as it has so many other products that more people need and use.

Hoping that someone who can change this reads this letter, and I hope they do something about it.
