Brindisi urges net neutrality supporters to sign his petition to return it to New York

Brindisi sponsoring legislation requiring internet service providers to verify they are net neutral before receiving contracts with state agencies, municipalities and school districts

Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi of Utica says he is urging supporters of Net Neutrality to sign a petition he has posted online.

Brindisi says he is co-sponsoring legislation to reverse the Federal Communications Commission’s recent decision to end Net Neutrality. This policy ensured that Internet service providers could not slow down or speed-up Internet traffic to certain websites, or prioritize which websites are available on web searches.

“Whether it has been improving health care coverage for volunteer firefighters or the Adirondack Railroad, petitions have been an effective way for me to demonstrate the public’s interest in a statewide issue, and they do make a difference,” Brindisi said. “Taking just a few minutes and going on my website and clicking on the Net Neutrality petition link will help my effort to reverse the FCC’s disastrous recent decision ending Net Neutrality.”
