Two charged with endangering the welfare of a child following a joint investigation in Oswego County

State Police have charged Shawn P. Doyle with Forcible Touching, Sexual Abuse 3rd degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, all misdemeanors.

These charges stem from an ongoing investigation after the parents of a 15-year-old reported what they believed was an inappropriate relationship between their son and Doyle.

Doyle was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in town of Richland Court on March 7, 2018, at 7 p.m.

The New York State Police in Pulaski announced the arrest of 51-year-old Shawn P. Doyle of 85 Lake Street, Pulaski, NY and 73-year-old John James Maroney of 185 Leavitt Road, New Haven, NY.  These individuals were arrested after a joint investigation conducted by the New York State Police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (Mid State Child Exploitation Task Force) and the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office.

The investigation commenced when the parents of a 15-year-old reported what they believed was an inappropriate relationship between their son and Doyle and Maroney.

The charges are as follows:
Shawn P. Doyle – (1) count of issuing a false written statement, (2) counts of Unlawfully Dealing with a minor, and (4) counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
John J. Maroney – (1) count False Written Statement and (2) counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Doyle and Maroney were arraigned in the Town of Richland released on their own recognizance.
