Morrisville-Eaton Elementary School Student Wins a “Pot of Gold”

Leprechaun “Willie O’Sweeney” made a stop recently at Morrisville-Eaton Elementary School to help one lucky student to find her “Pot of Gold” as reward for her great savings habits.

During a school-wide assembly Morrisville-Eaton Elementary School 1st grader, Mikyla Broedel, had 60 seconds to stash oversize gold coins in a giant pot, while also searching the gym for some “lucky charms” that had the value of three gold coins. Mikyla was then able to exchange her savings for hollow gold bars, each filled with cash.

CORE Federal Credit Union’s CEO Bill Sweeney, dressed to the hilt for the event, added to the “charm” of the event by playing the role of a leprechaun.

CORE Federal Credit Union sponsors the “Pot of Gold” campaign. As the event’s theme implies, saving even small amounts of money consistently over time can help children build their own pot of gold for the future and encourages students to establish good savings habits that will help them both now, and later in life.
