Agriculture is ‘Food For Life’

By Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi
Recently I met with members of the Oneida County Farm Bureau to discuss the future of agriculture in the Mohawk Valley.
March is a busy month for agriculture promotion, with Maple Weekend activities continuing this weekend, and the observance of ‘National Ag Week.’ This year’s theme for Ag Week is ‘Food For Life.’
Agriculture’s importance to New York cannot be overstated, with an annual worth of over $6 billion to our state’s economy.  There are nearly 200,000 jobs in New York connected in some form to agriculture. Events like Ag Week and Maple Weekend give us an opportunity to thank all those involved in food and fiber production in New York.
Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi is representative in New York’s 119 Assembly District and candidate for New York’s 22nd Congressional District.
