Elmont man arrested for possession of forged bank cards, bank card embosser and a card skimming device subsequent to a traffic stop

On April 12, 2018, at approximately 3:25 a.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87, in the town of Coeymans for a moving violation. During the interview of the driver for the traffic violation, probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants was established. The passenger Jaquan G. Johnson, age 23, of Elmont, was found in possession of (3) forged bank cards, (1) card embosser and a (1) card skimmer.  Johnson was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Albany. Where he was subsequently charged with:
  • Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree; a Class D Felony (3 counts)
  • Criminal Possession of Forgery Device; a Class D Felony (2 counts)
  • Unlawful Possession of Marihuana; a Violation (1 count)
Johnson is scheduled to be arraigned in the Town of Coeymans Court on today’s date at 9:00 a.m. No bail information or return court date is available at this time. The driver of the vehicle was issued a traffic ticket and released without further charges.
