Utica man arrested for possessing more than six pounds of marijuana subsequent to a traffic stop

On April 26, 2018, at approximately 2:10 a.m., State Police stopped a motorist for a vehicle and traffic violation. During the interview of the driver for the traffic violation, probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants was established.
The driver, Carlloyd C. Gowe, 42, of Utica, was found to be in possession of approximately 6.5 pounds of marijuana. Gowe was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Albany, where he was subsequently charged with:
  • Second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a class D felony
  • Vehicle and traffic violation
Gowe is scheduled to be arraigned in Coeymans Town Court with no bail amount or return court date available at this time.
