North Country Quilting Guild Donates to CHJC

North Country Quilting Guild’s Helen Tyler, chairperson of the group’s Caring and Sharing Outreach Project, recently delivered several donated handmade quilts to the Children’s Home of Jefferson. The Guild has been donating quilts to the Children’s Home for many years.

CHJC Residential and Therapeutic Crisis Respite Youth select their choice of quilt when they arrive on Campus to use in their CHJC bedroom and take with them when they are discharged. Foster Care Youth receive a quilt when they are taken into care. Youth also receive the quilts as adoption gifts and through CHJC’s Care Coordination Program.

The North Country Quilting Guild, a member of the Quilters Consortium of New York State, also creates and donates quilts and toiletry bags for many other North Country charities.

Guild members are also busy preparing for their 17th biennial Quilt Show featuring hundreds of quilts. A silent auction held during the show will feature miniature quilts. Auction proceeds will benefit local breast cancer patients.

The Quilt show will be held June 1 through 3, 2018, at the Cerow Recreational Park Arena, 615 East Line Road, Clayton. Show hours are Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. through 6 p.m.; and Sunday from 10 a.m.to 4 p.m. Admission is $7 per person. For more information on the Guild and its activities, visit ncqg.com.
