The New York State Police is hosting a week-long seminar to combat crimes against children at the New York State Police Academy in Albany

The seminar, organized by the State Police Special Victims Unit, includes expert speakers on a variety of topics including Crime Scene Investigation and Reconstruction, Internet Crimes Against Children, Forensic Interviewing Best Practices when Interviewing Children with Disabilities, Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse, New York State Amber Alerts and the investigating and prosecution of cases involving children.

This week-long training is intended to assist field level personnel in the successful investigation of offenses committed against children and the extensive training is provided at no cost to attendees.

Law enforcement, child advocacy professionals, victim advocates, prosecutors and representatives from social service agencies across the state are in attendance. The seminar concluded today.

The seminar is made possible through funding by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services.
