Troopers investigating fatal motorcycle crash in the town of Cicero
State Police are investigating a fatal car/motorcycle crash that occurred Friday evening at the intersection of Northern Boulevard and Interstate 481 in the town of Cicero.
The investigation revealed at approximately 9:30 p.m., a 1969 Chevrolet Impala was south on Northern Boulevard in the turning lane at the intersection of I-481. The driver of the car, Edward Taglialatela, 59, of Cicero, was making the left turn onto I-481 when it struck a 1980 Honda motorcycle that was traveling north on Northern Boulevard.
The operator of the motorcycle, Frank L. Lizardi, 44, of Liverpool, was transported to SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse where he was pronounced dead.
A passenger on the motorcycle, 32-year-old Tonya Tiewul, was transported to SUNY Upstate Medical University with severe leg injuries. She is listed in serious but stable condition. Taglialatela was not injured in the crash.
The investigation continues.
