Canastota Grad to Speak About Travels

Anna Vanderhoof will speak about her recent world travels at the Canastota Public Library at 7 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2018.

A 29-year-old environmental engineer, Vanderhoof worked hard, paid off her college debt and an automobile loan and started saving money. Last August, she left her job in New York City to travel, see new places, meet new people and broaden her perspective.

She recently arrived home after seven months of travel and has many stories and pictures to share.

Vanderhoof began her journey with a one-month tour of the United States, visiting nine National Parks. In just over 37 weeks. She has backpacked and climbed mountains while visiting New Zealand, Thailand, Vietnam, Italy, Austria, Germany, Great Britain and Scotland.

While in New Zealand, she explored both islands extensively and completed two New Zealand Great Walks (Routeburn Track and Tongariro Northern Circuit). Her journey was chronicled in her blog, broadeningperspectivesadventures.com.

Vanderhoof is a graduate of Canastota Central Schools and Syracuse University.
