Griffo, Brindisi secure $175,000 in additional state funding for Whitesboro Central School District

Funding will be used for safety and security measures at district schools

State Senator Joseph A. Griffo of Rome and Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi of Utica announced they have secured $175,000 in additional state funding for the Whitesboro Central School District.

Brindisi secured $100,000 and Griffo obtained $75,000; the additional state funding will be used to improve safety measures and security in Whitesboro schools.

“It is important that we do all that we can to help make sure that students and staff are safe while they are in school,” Griffo said. “This funding will help the Whitesboro Central School District to make important security enhancements such as hardening entry ways and creating a new, integrated security system. I know that these improvements will benefit the entire school community.”

“Whitesboro Superintendent Brian Bellair and other school district officials certainly made the case for additional funding that will provide a better school environment for students and staff alike,” Brindisi said. “I want to thank them for everything they do to ensure students there receive a sound education.”

“The efforts of Assemblyman Brindisi and Senator Griffo truly make a difference in the lives of our students and families,” Bellair said. “The safety of students, staff and visitors to our schools is of the utmost importance, and these funds will be used directly to supplement our safety and security initiatives.”
