Troopers investigating fatal head-on crash in Oneida County
State Police are investigating a two-car crash that occurred Monday, July 9, 2018 on Skinner Road in the town of Vernon, Oneida County.
At 5:13 p.m., Troopers responded to a Skinner Road, a quarter-mile east of Potash Hill Road. The investigation revealed a 2005 Nissan operated by 18-year-old Gabrielle March was traveling westbound on Skinner Road when a 2015 Hyundai, operated by Jacob B. Ross, 27, traveling eastbound crossed over into the westbound lane and hitting the Nissan head-on.
March suffered a broken left ankle and was transported to Faxton – St. Lukes Hospital. Ross was not wearing a seatbelt and was extracted by the Vernon Volunteer Fire Department and transported to Faxton-St. Lukes Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation continues.
