CAP Mentoring Program needs you

CAP Mentoring Program has a problem! In addition to needing mentors for the many young people (aged 8-15) who are on our waiting list, we need YOU to lead a group activity or share your expertise with youngsters – like this football minor league pictured above.

The Tri-Valley Warriors Minor League Football team dedicated their game to the CAP Mentoring Program. Coach Justin Acker greeted the youngsters before the game started. We started with a picnic in the park – the kids were excited to be at a football game.

At half time the announcer called each child by name as they ran out on the field. Our mentees were able to meet and greet the players and have a picture taken with the team. Most of them had never been to a football game before! Reactions included comments from “Wow! Awesome!!” and the joy reflected on their faces told the best story.

You can help – host an event, cook or donate a meal, teach the kids a skill, invite kids to your business or farm (if you have one!), donate funds for activities or park passes. You can just volunteer for ONE event – even doing a manicure during our Girls Night Out event. ONE and done! It would make such a difference in the lives of these youngsters!

Contact Nancy Verro, Program Manager, 315 697-3588 Ext. 11 for more information or suggestions – you will not regret it.
