Thursday Concerts on the Green: Loren Barrigar | Education Night

Hamilton’s Thursdays on the Green series continues July 26 on the Village Green in the center of downtown Hamilton with a performance by Loren Barrigar. Barrigar’s finely-honed songwriting skills have launched his melodies on NBC’s hit show ER, The Young and the Restless, and on a Christmas CD with BB King and Patti Labelle.

He has recently performed with some of the best acoustic players in the world including Steven Bennett, Richard Smith, John Knowles, Muriel Anderson, and Loren’s friend and mentor Tommy Emmanuel, the Australian guitar sensation. He has also recorded with Multiple Grammy winner and legendary producer Lloyd Maines. The village is excited to welcome this world-renowed finger-style guitarist and is looking forward to a great show.

In addition to terrific performances, each night of the series is dedicated to important community service providers (teachers, first responders, health care professionals, etc.) and includes family-friendly events. This Thursday’s event honors local educators.

Folks are encouraged to dine on the Village Green. Local food trucks will be present selling their specialties and local restaurants ready for you to take out something tasty.

Ice cream, generously provided by Hood Dairy, will be sold for a suggested donation of $2 with 100% of the proceeds going to worthy non-profit organizations. This week’s proceeds will benefit the Hamilton Central School Parent Teacher Organization.

Yard games will be available including: KanJam, Corn Hole, and the Ladder Game, courtesy of Parry’s General Store, as well as Giant Jenga, Yard Yahtzee, and a Washer Toss game.

The evening’s concert and events are free for all to enjoy! The rain location for this event is Hamilton’s Methodist Church. Activities begin at 5:30 p.m. Music will run from 7 to 9 p.m. For more information and rain date locations, visit facebook.com/thursdayconcertsonthegreen.
