GSC Harmony In Nature Series features “The Swamp Drivers”

You have to see this band to believe it. The Great Swamp Conservancy will host the “Swamp Drivers” Band from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 24 on stage at the GSC, 8375 N. Main St., Canastota.

The Swamp Drivers are professional musicians with redneck ingenuity that make high-energy music with unique instruments like no other band in the USA. With primordial driven, rockin’ blues music straight from the swamp will keep you dancing.

Their repertoire is a mix of crankin originals to covers from ZZ Top to BB King played on crazy  homemade instruments ranging from a one-string garden hoe to a four-string boat oar. They have
played on the Rachael Ray Show, opened for the Marshall Tucker Band, the Kentucky Headhunters, Robert Randolph Family Band, Devon Allman Band and many other bands.

They have been featured in magazines as the Guitar Players Magazine, played live on TV and Radio Shows, played at the NYS Blues Fest, Inducted into the NYS Blues Hall of Fame. Terry Mo Jo Johnson is the head swamper for the Swamp Drivers and sells his original, handmade instruments online, specializing in Mo Jo guitars.
