Roosevelt Residences to close pre-application window

The Municipal Housing Authority of the City of Utica announced today that it will accept pre-applications for its Roosevelt Residences affordable housing development until Friday, Aug. 24, 2018. The lottery to choose applicants is open to the public and will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, at 2 p.m. in the Community Room of Chancellor Apartments, 417 Bleecker Street, Utica.

The public as well as UMHA Tenant-Based Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) waiting list households are encouraged to submit pre-applications by Aug. 24. Paper pre-applications are available at our offices at 509 2nd St., Utica. Pre-applications may be downloaded from UticaRR.com. Pre-applications must be returned to our offices at 509 2nd St., Utica, by 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, or emailed toinfo@UticaRR.com by 11:59 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2018.

The Roosevelt Residences project involves the construction of 50 affordable housing units consisting of one, two, three and four-bedroom apartments. Eight units are set aside for the homeless and seven are fully accessible, adapted, and move-in ready units for people with mobility or hearing/vision impairments.

The UMHA does not make any promises or guarantees that applicants will be provided units or that units will be available. Successful applicants must meet eligibility standards for various funding programs, complete a full application, and may have to meet certain preferences for certain types of units.
