Senior women’s lacrosse duo named to IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association has announced its 208 Zag Sports Division III Academic Honor Roll, naming both senior goalkeepers from Morrisville State to its list of 639 total honorees.

To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of a 3.50 or greater.

Kallie George (Tully) earned the accolade for a second consecutive time, while Marissa Woodard (Unadilla) also was a recipient of the academic honor.

“I am very proud of the work Marissa and Kallie put into the classroom this past spring and throughout their collegiate careers,” head coach Taryn Burkholder said.

“They are great examples of what it means to be a Mustang, what we expect of our student-athletes within our program, and are great examples to their teammates.”

“We will certainly miss them next year, but both have great futures ahead of them in their professional careers.”

George and Woodard received their degrees in May from Morrisville State, majoring in equine science and criminal justice, respectively, while leading the Mustangs to their second straight NEAC Tournament Title and appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
