Troopers investigating fatal rollover crash in Oneida County
State Police in Marcy is investigating a fatal rollover crash that occurred Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, on State Route 365 in the city of Rome, Oneida County.
At approximately 11:39 p.m., Troopers responded to a one vehicle rollover on State Route 365 near the State Route 26 exit ramp in the city of Rome.
The investigation revealed that a 2014 Dodge pickup truck, operated by Todd Cozza, 24, of Utica, was eastbound on State Route 365 when he lost control of the vehicle, exited the east shoulder of the roadway, striking the guardrail and overturning multiple times. Cozza was transported by ambulance to St Elizabeth’s hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
A 27-year-old passenger in the vehicle was uninjured in the crash. The preliminary investigation suggests that Cozza was not wearing a seatbelt prior to the crash.
The crash is still under investigation.
