Oneida woman among four facing drug charges in Ardsley

Group charged with possession of ketamine, marijuana, heroin and crack cocaine subsequent to a traffic stop

On Dec. 5, 2018, at approximately 5:02 p.m., state police stopped a vehicle on I-87 in the village of Ardsley for vehicle and traffic violation.

During the interview of driver Joshua D. Allen, 25, of Augusta, Maine, probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants was established. During the subsequent search of the driver and his passengers Kayla L. Obrien, 25, of Chelsea, Maine; Anisha N. Lockhart, 23, of Oneida; and Aaron J. Bazemore, 27, of New York City, a total of 19.78 grams of marijuana, a syringe containing heroin, a glass smoking device containing burnt crack residue, approximately 194.02 grams of ketamine were all located.

All four subjects were taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Tarrytown, where they were subsequently processed in connection with some or all of the following charges:

  • Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (intent to sell); a class B felony [Bazemore only]
  • Fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; a class C felony [all four subjects]
  • Fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; a class D felony [Allen, Obrien and Lockhart]
  • Seventh-degree criminal possession of controlled substance; a class A misdemeanor [Obrien only]
  • Unlawful possession of marijuana; a violation [Allen and Bazemore]
  • Second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor [Allen, Obrien and Bazemore]
  • Various vehicle and traffic law violations [Allen only]

All subjects were arraigned in Ardsley Village Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail. Allen and Obrien are being held in lieu of $20,000 bail bond or $10,000 cash. Bazemore and Lockhart are being held in lieu of $50,000 bail bond or $25,000 cash bail.
