Woodland Farm Brewery plans third anniversary party

Woodland Farm Brewery is excited to announce our third anniversary party with a weekend of celebrations. The celebration will begin Friday, Jan. 4, with specials planned throughout the weekend and ending Sunday, Jan. 6.

Woodland is so grateful for their pint club members, regulars and all the new folks that stop in to visit; to honor all our customers, we’re bringing back a couple of the first beers we brewed that many have been asking for, including Sagey and Syrup Sucker.

Of course, the weekend wouldn’t be complete without the release of new barrel-aged beers, too.

On Friday, we’re kicking off the weekend with the return of Sagey and Syrup Sucker. Sagey is a farmhouse ale conditioned on just enough dried sage to add another layer of herbal goodness to an easy drinking saison. We’re also releasing Syrup Sucker again; an imperial brown ale fermented with local maple syrup from Tibbitts Maple in New Hartford.

In honor of the unwavering support, we’ll be selling growlers of these beers for only $10 all day long.

On Saturday, we are unveiling their anniversary barrel-aged beers. This year, we have Bourbon Batch 3 and Rye Batch 3. Both of these wee-heavies spent time in bourbon and rye whiskey barrels from Black Button Distilling.

Aged for more than a year in the barrels, the strong malt and chocolate character of the wee-heavy was enhanced with barrel flavors. With Bourbon Batch 3, expect additional notes of vanilla, smooth bourbon and oak.

The Rye Batch 3 is a special treat that adds a touch of rye spice, oak and leather; 50 bottles of each will be available for sale when we open at 11.

Visitors will also be able to get a sneak peak at the base of the wee-heavy for next year’s anniversary (yeah, that’s right, we already have barrels filled for next year.)

The weekend will wrap up Sunday with brunch at 10 a.m., followed at 2 p.m. by the area’s premier raucous string band, Remsen Social Club. The boys were there for the first anniversary party, and its only fitting they bring us all into Woodland’s fourth year of imbibing.

As always, Woodland’s Sunday morning brunch food menu features such offerings as Heidelberg French toast paninis, waffles, Black Button Bourbon Cream-infused whipped cream and more. We also offer brunch cocktails, beermosas, coffee and, of course, beer. Drink specials will be available throughout the day.

Woodland thanks everyone for their continued support in making Woodland more than just a brewery; we’ve grown into a place for community, music and to get away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. Come celebrate three years of great beer and many more years to come.
