Colgate opens at Syracuse Feb. 8 to begin Karweck coaching era
Early tests are the theme as Colgate Men’s Lacrosse gets set to take the field under first-year head coach Matt Karweck.
The Raiders open against Central New York rival Syracuse in the Carrier Dome on Friday night, Feb. 8, to begin their 13-game schedule. Nonconference matchups follow against Binghamton and Maryland, both on the road.
“We wanted to schedule the best competition early in our season to help us develop as a team,” Karweck said. “If we are going to be the best version of ourselves at the end of the year, then playing the best that we can in the beginning will help us get there.”
Colgate’s home opener is Tuesday, Feb. 26, against Hobart.
The Raiders play three in a row at home against Hobart, Lehigh and Boston University in the late-February and early-March window. Single home games follow against Navy on April 6 and then against Lafayette for Senior Day on April 20.
