Believe to Achieve awards ceremony to be held at Lemoyne College |
The Syracuse Sports Corporation will conduct the Fall Sports 2018 Believe to Achieve awards ceremony at Lemoyne College in the athletic center at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9.
The awards recognize meritorious contribution to the Central New York Sports Community; among them is
Cazenovia girls volleyball coach Brian Ellithorpe.
The fall 2018 award recipients include:
Individual Female Athlete Award: Brooke Fedi / Swimming / Cicero-North Syracuse
Hal McGrath Individual Male Athlete Award: Ian Rivers / Golf / East Syracuse Minoa
Coach Award: Brian Ellithorpe / Girls Volleyball / Cazenovia
Barbara Henderson Female Team Award: Baldwinsville Volleyball
Joe LaGuardia Male Team Award: West Genesee Football
Reed Hawke Excellence in Sportsmanship Award: CBA Medical Team that saved football player Melvin Beard
Mark Hills, Chairman of the Believe To Achieve committee states, “Believe to Achieve recognizes the accomplishments of individuals and teams in sports, one of Syracuse Sports Corporation’s goals is to improve the quality of life in Central New York through sports. The achievements recognized emulate this with the hard work, dedication, and teamwork guiding the individuals through life and providing an example for our community beyond sports.”
Believe to Achieve was founded by Reed Hawke, Syracuse Sports Corporation member and hall of fame wrestling coach. This event is sponsored by LeMoyne College and The Pen and Trophy Center.
