Community Memorial\u2019s Hamilton Heart Center Cardiologist Raymond Carlson, M.D., recently took a pie in the face from April LaMunion, SUNY Poly nurse practitioner student, Thursday, March 14, 2019, because employees at the hospital and its five family health centers surpassed their fundraising goal of $500.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Employees purchased red hearts, red dress pins or magnets in\nhonor or in memory of a friend, loved one or patient impacted by cardiovascular\ndisease and stroke during the weeklong fundraising effort to support heart\nresearch and education for the American Heart Association\/American Stroke\nAssociation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs always our employees rise to the occasion when it comes\nto supporting efforts to improve the health of our community,\u201d said President and\nCEO Sean Fadale. \u201cThey have big hearts. Improving treatments and awareness of\ncardiovascular disease and stroke are paramount to creating a healthy\nlifestyle, especially for the rural communities we serve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEvents like this build awareness and help raise the\ncritical funds needed to advance research that benefits our patients in the\nexam room every day with innovative approaches to treatments, prevention and\neducation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
