Arrives from Springfield; Takes over as assistant coach for running backs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/strong>Colgate Football head coach Dan Hunt has completed his staff for the 2019 season with the addition of Jared Livingston as assistant coach for running backs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Livingston was able to join the staff in time for the final two weeks of spring practice. Colgate\u2019s spring practice ends this weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are very excited to have Jared join us,\u201d Hunt said. \u201cHe came highly recommended from people who we trust, and on his interview proved worthy of those recommendations. He is a great teacher of technique, and he brings some great knowledge to our offensive staff.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Livingston joins the Raiders from Springfield, where he spent two seasons for the Division III program as a graduate assistant under head coach Mike Cerasuolo. Hunt followed a nearly identical path to Colgate back in 1995, arriving after playing collegiately at Springfield and then serving as a graduate assistant coach for three seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is an added bonus to hire someone from Springfield,\u201d Hunt said. \u201cIt\u2019s a place that is dear to me and has produced a lot of coaches from their graduate assistant program.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Livingston played at Springfield from 2006-09, helping the Pride to an Empire 8 Athletic Conference championship, an NCAA second round playoff berth and an ECAC bowl title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI can\u2019t thank Coach Hunt and Colgate University enough for bringing my family and me to Hamilton,\u201d Livingston said. \u201cIt is an exciting time here, and I look forward to the opportunities the 2019 season holds for us. The players and staff have been outstanding to work with since I\u2019ve arrived. The reputation of this program and institution can be seen in the way everyone works on and off the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSpringfield was a tremendous experience in starting my collegiate coaching career. Coach Cerasuolo, Coach Webster, and Coach Holik have been instrumental in my development as a coach. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to go back and coach for the Pride.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tremendous Success at Springfield<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Seattle native, Livingston after his playing days returned to his home city to serve as an assistant coach at Mercer Island High School and Seattle Prep High School before returning to Springfield in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Livingston earned his bachelor\u2019s degree from Springfield in sport management back in 2010, and he completes his master\u2019s there in athletic administration this spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Livingston\u2019s two seasons with the Pride, Springfield posted a combined 18-4 record, including a 10-0 regular season in 2017. That squad led the nation in rushing yards at 435.2 \u2013 sparked by a pair of All-Conference halfbacks \u2013 and suffered its only loss in the NCAA playoffs. In 2018, Springfield went 8-3 and Livingston helped the Pride to a 295-yard rushing average en route to a third-place finish in the NEWMAC. The Pride last season won the New England Bowl over SUNY Maritime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
