This walking tour will take visitors into every section\nof the building, lead them up and down 12 sets of stairs and address the myths\nand rumors about Community life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This tour is not handicapped-accessible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to limited space, a reservation is required. The cost of\nthe tour is $5 for members of OCMH, $15 for non-member adults and $10 for\nstudents (ages 8 and older). Tickets may be purchased on Eventbrite at eventbrite.com\/e\/behind-the-scenes-tour-tickets-6026569130,\nor visit oneidacommunity.org or Facebook for a direct link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Proceeds benefit collection management, preservation and the interpretive\nmission of the Mansion House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Mansion House was the residence of the 19th century\nutopian Oneida Community (1848 &#8211; 1880), which rejected monogamous marriage and\npromoted female equality. OCMH preserves, collects and interprets material\nculture, intangible heritage and the historic building situated on 33 acres of<strong> <\/strong>landscaped\nlawns and gardens. OCMH is a National Historic Landmark and chartered by the state\nDepartment of Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Mansion House is open to the public Monday through\nSaturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon until 5 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Oneida Community Mansion House is located at 170 Kenwood\nAve., Oneida.
