Students earn degrees from the University of Vermont<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some 3,275 students were awarded degrees during the\nUniversity of Vermont’s 218th commencement ceremonies. Among them was David\nPeterson of Cazenovia, who graduated with a bachelor of science degree in physics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Darren Walker who presides over the Ford Foundation, one of the world’s most influential social justice philanthropies and one of the largest private foundations in the United States, delivered the address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Local residents graduate from Hamilton College<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The following local residents received bachelor of arts\ndegrees from Hamilton College Sunday, May 26, 2019, at the commencement\nceremony concluding the college’s 207th year:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Edwin Brennan of Waterville. A Hispanic studies major at\nHamilton, Brennan graduated cum laude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Willa Mihalyi-Koch of New Woodstock. A chemistry major at\nHamilton, Mihalyi-Koch graduated cum laude with departmental honors in\nchemistry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elijah Morris of Sherburne. Morris majored in economics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jessica Murray of Morrisville. Murray majored in\nneuroscience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Benjamin Parfitt of Hamilton. A computer science and\nmathematics major at Hamilton, Parfitt graduated summa cum laude with\ndepartmental honors in computer science and mathematics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Freeman Hrabowski, president of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, delivered the Commencement address, advising graduates to “keep asking the hard questions and keep thinking of things we’ve not thought about – about social justice and inequality and seeking the truth.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SUNY Canton students named to spring 2019 dean’s list<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students are being recognized for earning Dean’s List honors\nduring the spring 2019 semester at SUNY Canton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students who earned dean’s list honors include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Elizabeth LaSalle of Canastota, majoring in the\nSUNY Canton Dental Hygiene program.<\/li>
  • Kara L. Primer of Chittenango, majoring in the\nSUNY Canton Criminal Investigation program.<\/li>
  • Amanda Bixby of Georgetown, majoring in the SUNY\nCanton Applied Psychology program.<\/li>
  • Ethan H. White of Oneida, majoring in the SUNY\nCanton Engineering Science program.<\/li>
  • Kiersten Gibbons of Truxton, majoring in the\nSUNY Canton Health Care Management program.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Dean’s List recognizes full-time students who have earned a\nGPA between 3.25 and 3.74. All honors are a mark of distinction and recognition\nof outstanding academic efforts and scholarship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
