Update: The male subject who threatened the female with a\nknife yesterday was identified as Richard R. Galavotti, 33, of 8243 N. Main St.\nRoad, Canastota.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Thursday, June 13, 2019, at 3:15 p.m., Galavotti was\nreleased from the hospital and charged by the Madison County Sheriff\u2019s Office\nwith first-degree burglary (class B felony) and fourth-degree criminal possession\nof a weapon and second-degree menacing (both class A misdemeanors).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Galavotti was arraigned in Lenox Town Court and remanded to\nthe Madison County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond; he is\nscheduled to return to court at 9 a.m. June 18, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Thursday, June 13, 2019, at 7:42 a.m., Madison County\nSheriff\u2019s Office deputies responded to a burglary-in-progress call on North\nMain Street Road in Lenox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The caller said a man with a knife was in their\nresidence. Upon arrival, deputies located a male covered in blood across\nthe street from the caller\u2019s house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Investigation revealed that earlier in the morning, the male\nwas at his residence when he became agitated, broke a window and then exited\nthe residence. The male walked across the street to another house and\nentered the neighbor\u2019s residence; the male then pointed a knife at a female who\nwas in the house and threatened to kill her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The female screamed, and her son ran over to the male and\ntook the knife from him. The son then pushed the male out of the residence\nand called 911.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The male has been transported to a medical facility for cuts\non his arms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
