The&nbsp;hotline&nbsp;will be\navailable to troubleshoot and resolve a range of issues encountered by voters\nat their poll sites.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">James&nbsp;urges voters experiencing problems or issues at\nthe polls to call the Office\u2019s&nbsp;Hotline&nbsp;at 1-800.771.7755 or\nemail&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:civil.rights@ag.ny.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>civil.rights@ag.ny.gov<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;at\nany time between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, June 25th.\nThe&nbsp;Hotline&nbsp;will be staffed by attorneys and staff in the Attorney\nGeneral\u2019s Civil Rights Bureau.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNew Yorkers throughout the State have the fundamental and\nabsolute right to accessible elections,\u201d said&nbsp;James. \u201cMy office is doing everything in its power to ensure that\nNew Yorkers are able to have their voices heard. Voters can call their local Board of Elections or\n     the Attorney General\u2019s&nbsp;Hotline&nbsp;to determine if there is a\n     contested primary they can vote in and to verify whether their poll site\n     will be open.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Voters\n     who have moved to another county within New York may now cast a ballot at\n     their new residence without resubmitting an entirely new registration\n     form. This can be done by filing an affidavit ballot at their new\n     residence\u2019s local poll site.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Poll\n     sites in New York City, and the counties of Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester,\n     Rockland, Orange, Putnam,&nbsp;Dutchess&nbsp;and Erie will open at 6:00\n     AM, while poll sites in all other counties will open at&nbsp;noon.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are additional changes to the election process set to\ntake effect after Tuesday\u2019s election, including:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Voters will have the opportunity to vote early in the General Election in November.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>All poll sites will open at 6 a.m. beginning in 2020.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Attorney General\u2019s Office has operated the voter\naccess&nbsp;Hotline&nbsp;since November 2012. During previous elections, the\nOffice fielded hundreds \u2013 and sometimes thousands \u2013 of complaints from voters\nacross the state and worked with local election officials and others to address\nissues. In 2017, the Attorney General\u2019s Office sued and secured a consent\ndecree with the New York City Board of Elections regarding&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/links.govdelivery.com\/track?type=click&amp;enid=ZWFzPTEmbXNpZD0mYXVpZD0mbWFpbGluZ2lkPTIwMTkwNjI0LjczMjc4MzEmbWVzc2FnZWlkPU1EQi1QUkQtQlVMLTIwMTkwNjI0LjczMjc4MzEmZGF0YWJhc2VpZD0xMDAxJnNlcmlhbD0xNzExODkxNSZlbWFpbGlkPW1hcmdvQG0zcG1lZGlhLmNvbSZ1c2VyaWQ9bWFyZ29AbTNwbWVkaWEuY29tJnRhcmdldGlkPSZmbD0mZXh0cmE9TXVsdGl2YXJpYXRlSWQ9JiYm&amp;&amp;&amp;102&amp;&amp;&amp;https:\/\/ag.ny.gov\/press-release\/ag-schneiderman-announces-major-settlement-nyc-board-elections-over-voter-registration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>voter registration purges<\/strong><\/a><strong>.&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Election Day&nbsp;Hotline&nbsp;is part of the Office\u2019s\nongoing effort to reduce barriers to voting. Attorney General James reminds all\nregistered voters that they have the right to accessible elections. In\naddition, all registered voters have the right to vote free from coercion or intimidation,\nwhether by election officials or any other person.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Office will receive and respond to election complaints relating to any of the statutes that the Office enforces. The Attorney General\u2019s Election Day Hotline\u00a0is being coordinated by Assistant Attorneys General Conor Duffy and Ajay Saini of the Civil Rights Bureau and led by Acting Civil Rights Bureau Chief Elena Goldstein.
