Summer Reading, \u201cUniverse of Stories,\u201d is almost over, so\nkeep reading and recording those minutes. \nMake sure you turn in your reading records (kids) and book reviews (adults)\nby 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aug. 9 please join us for \u201cUnder the Stars\/Magic in the Sky\u201d\nat 6:30 p.m. Join us as we have fun with stars and the magic that is in our sky\n\u2013 games, a craft and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Summer Reading ends at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9. If you read at\nleast 10 hours (kids), join us for our Summer Reading graduation at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday,\nAug. 14.  Awards, prizes and ice cream\nsundaes. If you are unsure you made it, check with the library manager prior to\nthe event. Will the kids have read enough to COLOR the library manager?  We shall see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t forget at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, we are having our library\nlock-in, which runs until 8 a.m. Saturday morning. Families\/people can come\nstay the night at the library and play video and board games, work on a puzzle,\ncreate crafts, use the computers, watch movies, eat food and lots more. Some\nreminders: no one under 6; too long of a time for littles \u2013 no exceptions, and\nyou cannot come for a few hours; you have to stay the entire time. Anyone 12\nand up can come by themselves as long as your parent has completed a permission\nslip (available Aug. 1 at the circulation desk).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All who attend must bring a sleeping bag and pillow (as we\ndo make everyone head to sleep if they are still awake at 4 a.m.).  If you want to help plan, donate items, etc.,\ncontact the library manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Monday, Aug. 19, we will be having our Out of this World\nTie Dye night at 6:30 p.m. Bring a 100-percent pre-washed cotton item or items\n(e.g., t-shirt, handkerchief, etc.). Dress to get messy.  (We will not provide cotton items; people\nmust bring their own.) Open to all ages; young and old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, we will be Coding Cars with\n4-H. Join 4-H resource educator Craig Brown as he helps us to code a video game\nusing Scratch. Make sure your parents come at 8 p.m., as we plan to showcase\nall the games you created. This program is open to ages 8 to 14 only, and we\nhave limited spaces available. Make sure you sign up starting Aug. 1 at the\ncirculation desk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday, Aug. 23, is Family Movie Night at 7 p.m. We provide\nthe popcorn, so bring the family and your own beverage. Want to know what we\nare showing?  Contact the library or visit\nmidyorklib.org\/morrisville\/events\/movie-nights-the-library\/.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Excess Crops Swap at the library \u2013 drop off any extra\nproduce you grew\/purchased, etc., that you don\u2019t think you will finish before\nit goes bad. Look and see what is already there, and if you like something,\ntake it. The basket is in the entry, so come check it out or drop off stuff\ntoday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are on summer hours, so we will be closed Saturdays\nthrough Labor Day. We are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from noon to 8 p.m.\nand Tuesday and Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
