Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve helps employers\nsupport part-time service members and resolve issues<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The New York Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard\nand Reserve, known as ESGR, is looking for somebody to chair the committee\nwhich works to help employers and members of the National Guard and Reserves to\nunderstand their obligations to each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chair of the commission is an official Department of\nDefense volunteer position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The position carries a three-year term and the protocol of a\nmilitary two-star flag officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The selected candidate for this prominent position will be\nrequired to take an oath of office and will be sworn in during a formal\nceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The State Chair serves at the pleasure of the Assistant\nSecretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chair’s most important role is to provide the leadership\nand vision for a team of dedicated volunteers spread all across New York in\ncarrying out the mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ESGR operates through a network of thousands of volunteers\nnationwide and in all state committees, and conducts volunteer activities, like\nemployer outreach and awards presentations, military education briefs, and\nmediation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ESGR’s dedicated volunteers come from all walks of life.\nThey are business executives, military spouses, civic leaders, military\npersonnel, and patriotic citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ESGR volunteers seek to improve the employer relations of\nour brave men and women that place themselves in harm’s way, leave their\nfamilies, and put their careers on hold as they preserve our way of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proven leaders, who are interested and meet qualifying\nskills for the New York ESGR State Chair position are encouraged to submit a\nnomination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To be considered for selection by the search committee, each\ninterested candidate should submit their nomination package, to include the\nfollowing items:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Biographical summary or Resume<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. A letter stating his\/her willingness to accept the\nposition, reason(s) for interest in serving, and thoughts and plans for leading\nthe New York ESGR state committee<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Other supporting materials, as appropriate\n(recommendations, photos, etc.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
