All\nNew York residents are allowed to cast a vote to choose which of the new plates\nbecomes the official choice for the state: one of the options is the newly\nnamed Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI can\u2019t help but have a sense of irony about this\nproposal,\u201d Salka said. \u201cThere was a decided push to give undocumented\nimmigrants driver\u2019s licenses this past session, but now the governor won\u2019t\nallow them to vote for the plates on their cars. You have to be a resident to\nvote on the plates but not a resident to use one?
