Program\nparticipants choose a combination of techniques and cessation treatments they\nwill use in their quit attempt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The evidence-based approach helps participants increase\ntheir motivation to quit, learn effective approaches for quitting and guide\nthem in making a successful quit attempt through information, activities, and\ndiscussion. Components of the program include motivational intervention\nactivities, practical counseling, social support and education about medication\nand different approaches to quitting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Program participants can expect a participant guide handed\nout at the beginning of the first session to use in the program sessions and\nfor personal review outside of class.
