The Cazenovia Public Library will begin its fall storytime\nschedule on Monday, Sept. 9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Offered five days a week, \u201cStorytime in the Story Garden\u201d\nencourages children to develop early literacy skills through active listening,\ninteraction, exploration, and play in an inviting environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each engaging session is thoughtfully designed by trained\nearly literacy specialists to foster a lifelong love of reading and learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Children under age 2 and their caregivers are invited to\njoin Betsy Kennedy on Mondays and Tuesdays at 10:15 a.m. for Baby Storytime.\nEach 45-minute session is divided into two sections \u2014 the first half features\nbooks, songs, rhymes, and movement activities, while the second half is\ndedicated to open playtime. Siblings are welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toddler Storytime, led by Jenna Wright Martin, is offered\nWednesdays at 10:15 a.m. for children ages 2-3 and their caregivers. Weekly\nsessions feature books, songs, activities and open playtime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Explore & Learn sessions (for ages 3-6) are specifically\ndesigned to promote learning, creativity and socialization through hands-on\nactivities and observation. Children are invited to join Ms. Jenna on Thursdays\nat 10:15 a.m. for sensory activities, scientific exploration, stories, songs,\nand art projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Karen Kogut will present Music and Movement Storytime for\nchildren ages 2 and up on Fridays at 10:15 a.m. Sessions will feature singing,\nreading, story telling and large motor games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Music and movement programs not only facilitate the\ndevelopment of language and listening skills, they can also aid in a child\u2019s\nphysical and cognitive development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Library\u2019s dedication to promoting literacy extends\nbeyond its walls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Story Room at CazCares is a library-sponsored early\nliteracy initiative that operates out of the Food Pantry at 101 Nelson Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program provides preschool children with foundational\npre-literacy skills through language-rich guided play, read-aloud experiences,\nand learning activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Story Room is open during normal CazCares hours (Monday,\nTuesday, Thursday 9:30 a.m. to noon, and Monday 4 to 6 p.m.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Families are invited to attend all storytime sessions and\nencouraged to check out books to continue reading at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
