Anthony Brindisi<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Following push by Brindisi, Local FOX, ABC and NBC stations return to DirecTV customers<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Brindisi: Our communities depend on local news; I will\ncontinue holding big cable companies accountable<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Congressman Anthony Brindisi released the following statement\nafter reports that Nexstar and cable giant AT&amp;T had reached a resolution to\nlocal blackouts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cFinally, these\nblackouts have come to an end. When big cable companies stop airing local\nstations it puts our communities at risk. Many New Yorkers depend on local\ntelevision to find out about breaking news, traffic accidents, and important\nweather events. I\u2019m glad to see these stations back on the air, and I will\ncontinue working to hold these big cable companies accountable.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier this year, Brindisi called on AT&amp;T to negotiate\nin good faith with local broadcasters.
