The state Law Enforcement Accreditation Program provides a blueprint\nfor effective, professional law enforcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the first time in its history the Madison County\nSheriff\u2019s Office Criminal Division has received accreditation.&nbsp;The\nadministration received this honor within a year-and-a-half of being in office.\nThe agency had to meet 110 standards to become accredited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accreditation provides formal recognition that the Madison\nCounty Sheriff\u2019s Office Criminal Division meets or exceeds general expectations\nin all operations (training, fiscal management, personnel practices, policies\nand records management) and acknowledges the implementation of policies that\nare conceptually sound and operationally effective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBeing awarded accreditation from the New York State\nDivision of Criminal Justice Services is an honor,\u201d said Madison County Sheriff\nTodd Hood. \u201cBecoming an accredited agency was a goal for my administration from\nthe beginning.&nbsp;It acknowledges the outstanding job the members of the\nMadison County Sheriff\u2019s Office do day in and day out.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accreditation is granted by the accreditation council for a\nperiod of five years.
