Members of the Library Board of Trustees are collecting\nitems for the annual Silent Auction until Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019.  Donations can be such things as handcrafted\nitems, artwork, gift certificates, donations from businesses, etc., with a\nminimum value of $5. They will not be accepting USED items.  New or handmade is acceptable. The bidding begins\nNov. 4; please help by donating or bidding on items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our 17th annual Pumpkin Coloring Contest has begun. Stop in\nto the library and pick up your pumpkin coloring contest entry. You have until\nOct. 19 at 4 p.m. to turn in your creations for judging.  Open to toddler through\nsixth-graders.  Winners will be announced\nat our Halloween party at the end of the month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join us for Kiddies Korner, our preschool story hour, at 10\na.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8. Help us have fun with \u201cI\u2019m Grumpy.\u201d  stories, finger plays, a craft and more.\nCan\u2019t make it that day?  Join us the\nfollowing week (Oct. 15) for \u201cIn the City.\u201d \nBe sure to stop in and get a complete schedule today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Wednesday, Oct. 9, join us for Book Creations at 6:30 p.m.  Come make a \u201cbook creation\u201d out of recycled\nbooks as Robin Branch-Staelens shows us how. \nWe will be making holiday candles out of recycled books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Friday, Oct. 11, join us for Hamilton\u2019s Historic Houses\nPart 2, a historic talk at 6:30 p.m.  We\nwelcome Madison County Historian Judy Lyrek, who will present part two on the\nHistorical Houses in Hamilton. Come and see the photos and hear the stories\nbehind some of the most prominent houses in the town of Hamilton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday, Oct. 16, is our next book talk at 6:30 p.m.  Looking for a good book to read?  How about joining our book talk; we will be\nreading \u201cThe Great Alone,\u201d by Kristin Hannah. \nCopies can be picked up now. \nDiscussion open to teens and adults. \nSo grab a book, read it and come join us for a sure to be fun discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Saturday, Oct. 19, we will be having our Nerf Family\nEdition from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Bring your own Nerf equipment (darts, too\u2013label\nthem) and join us for open play around the library.  Open to families with children 5 years of age\nand older. Families must have at least two people and no more than five.  We are allowing no more than eight families\nto sign up and ALL family members MUST play. \nSign up now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will be closed Monday, Oct. 14, to observe Columbus\nDay.  We will reopen Tuesday, Oct. 15, at\n10 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
