Friends of Rogers offers monthly programs at Rogers\nEnvironmental Education Center in Sherburne. Explore a specific topic with an experienced\nexpert in a casual atmosphere during Learning Lectures and get outside for a\nfun educational adventure with EdVentures. For the month of October, both Learning\nLectures and EdVentures focus on Fungi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2019, at 6:30 p.m., \u201cFungi: the Good,\nthe Bad, and the Ugly\u201d is the Learning Lecture for October. The fungal kingdom\nis underexplored and what is known is hard to understand. Sally Reymers,\nmycologist, will help us make sense of these crazy organisms. Join her for a\nfascinating lecture. Individual rate: $4\/members and $5\/not-yet-members; family\nrate: $12\/members and $14\/not-yet-members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If just talking\nabout fungi isn\u2019t enough, come to the October EdVenture \u201cHunting Down Fungi\u201d Saturday,\nOct. 5, at 10 a.m. Fungi may be easy to find, but they are hard to\nidentify. Join Reymers to discover how to recognize fungi on your own. They may\nbe immobile, but fungi are hunters themselves, so be wary. Individual rate:\n$4\/members and $5\/not-yet-members. Recommended\nfor ages 13 and up, family rates available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Learning Lectures and EdVentures are recommended for ages 13\nand up. Meet at the Visitor Center, just off state Route 80.  Paid pre-registration\nis required by noon the day prior for most classes; call 607.674.4733 or email sr.educator@FriendsofRogers.org<\/a>\nfor more details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rogers Center is operated by Friends of\nRogers Environmental Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization that offers educational programs for people of all ages.
