Celebrate\nHalloween with a free family-friendly event at Rogers Center. Friends of Rogers\npresents \u201cAnimals of Halloween\u201d beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 12th<\/sup> at\nRogers Environmental Education Center in Sherburne. Follow the pumpkin lined\npath to the Outdoor Classroom for a performance by the Schmitt Sisters Dance!\ngroup at 5:30 pm to kick off the event. Then at 6:00, travel the trails around\nthe Visitor Center to see the actors dressed as animals of New York State and\nlearn about each animal they portray.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks\nto Gilligan\u2019s Island of Sherburne, Hot chili and mac-n-cheese will be available\nfor purchase, and Friends of Rogers will be selling campfire s\u2019mores for\nroasting. Fidelis Care will be handing out candy and pencils, Jenni Larchar\nwill be performing at the fire pit area and families can get help with making s\u2019mores.\nThe evening ends with free cider and donuts in the Outdoor Classroom around 8\npm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnimals\nof Halloween is a family friendly event for all ages, no haunted house or anything\nthat might scare children.\u201d Said Simon Solomon, Executive Director at Friends\nof Rogers. \u201cWe want families to be able to come out and enjoy this free celebration.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pumpkins\nwill be carved by the Sherburne-Earlville Elementary students a few days prior\nto the event and will be lit to light your way to Animals of Halloween. For more\ninformation, please follow the Facebook event or contact Friends of Rogers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rogers\nCenter is operated by Friends of Rogers Environmental Education\nCenter, Inc., a nonprofit organization that offers educational programs for all ages. Seasonal hours are\nfrom 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 3\np.m. on Sunday.
