Hamilton business among finalists eligible for financial boost<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

FuzeHub, a not-for-profit organization responsible for assisting\nsmall and medium-sized manufacturing companies in New York state, announcedthe 2019\nCommercialization Competition. As part of the Jeff Lawrence Manufacturing Innovation\nFund, FuzeHub will hold its third Commercialization Competition Nov. 18 and 19,\n2019, at the Albany Capital Center. Nineteen entrepreneurs from across New York\nstate will pitch their ideas before a live audience; among them is Natural Beauty\nBreast Prosthesis, LLC, of Hamilton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of $400,000 will be awarded to the top presentations.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is considered one of FuzeHub\u2019s signature events,\u201d said\nElena Garuc, executive director of FuzeHub. \u201cIt brings awareness to the diversity\nof innovation and entrepreneurship that exists in all of our regions across New\nYork. Each year, we continue to see new cutting-edge products and technologies.\nThese awards can be an essential element to help companies achieve sales and growth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This two-day event in Albany features an investment-themed welcome\nprogram, exhibits, speakers and the opportunity to see how New York is helping to\nretain talent and move innovative early-stage companies toward success. Companies\nwill demonstrate the commercialization potential of their product or technology\nfor the opportunity to win up to $150,000. Six companies will receive a $50,000\naward and one of six finalists will receive the grand prize of an additional $100,000.\nAward funds must be used to improve a working prototype that will enable the company\nto pursue additional investment and customers, leading to the commercialization\nof their product concept.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe annual FuzeHub Commercialization Competition is a key driver\nof innovative economic activity in a variety of industries in New York, and I look\nforward to seeing the chosen entrepreneurs present new ideas to drive economic growth\nand job creation in the state,\u201d Matt Watson, Director of Empire State Development\u2019s\nDivision of Science, Technology and Innovation. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event will allow individuals to network with others in the\nentrepreneurial and investment ecosystems and see how FuzeHub is continuing to spur\ntechnology development and commercialization across the state. The Manufacturing Innovation Fund, consisting of $1 million annually,\nsupports a set of activities designed to spur technology development and commercialization\nacross New York.
