Among them are Abbey Woodcock, Oneida\nFreelance Co-Op, and Anne Wadsworth, Bagel Grove Inc., of Utica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur graduates have just spent months analyzing their\nbusiness financials, identifying sales trends, leveraging resources, learning\nnew management skills, and planning how to sustainably expand their business. I\nam positive that each graduate stands better prepared to face new challenges\nand opportunities for their small business,\u201d said Bernard J. Paprocki, SBA\nSyracuse District director, at the graduation ceremony. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Emerging Leaders Initiative provides free entrepreneurship\neducation and training for executives of small, poised-for-growth companies\nthat are potential job creators.&nbsp; This\nintensive executive entrepreneurship series includes nearly 100 hours of classroom\ntime. It also provides opportunities for small business owners to work with\nexperienced coaches and mentors, attend workshops, and develop connections with\ntheir peers, local leaders, and the financial community.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The SBA program is made possible through support from local\ncosponsors including Blackstone LaunchPad, CenterState CEO, CNY TDO, City of\nSyracuse Office of Neighborhood and Business Development, Falcone Center for\nEntrepreneurship, MACNY, Onondaga County, Onondaga Small Business Development\nCenter, SUNY ESF, Syracuse SCORE Chapter, The Downtown Committee, The Tech\nGarden and the WISE Women\u2019s Business Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since its inception in 2008, the SBA\u2019s Emerging Leaders\nInitiative has trained over 5,000 small business owners, creating over 6,500\njobs, generating over $300 million in new financing, and securing over $3.16\nbillion in government contracts. Now in its ninth year, Syracuse is one of\ndozens of participating Emerging Leaders locations nationwide.
