Fritz’s Polka Band from\u00a0Verona recently wrapped up a five-gig, four-date residency in Nashville, Tenn. From Nov. 7 through 10, FPB performed once a day (twice Nov. 9) at the Bavarian Bierhaus, located at 121 Opry Mills Drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis marked the first time in the band\u2019s 41-plus years that\nwe performed in Nashville,\u201d said Fritz Scherz, band leader of Fritz’s Polka\nBand.  \u201cI had never been to Nashville before and truth be told, never\nthought my band would perform there. When this opportunity presented itself, it\nwas like a dream come true! I\u2019m grateful to the owners and staff at the\nBavarian Bierhaus as the venue was truly special and we were treated great!\nWhile Nashville is obviously big on country-style music, I\u2019m proud to say that\ndespite hardly playing any country music during our residency, my band went\nover well and folks seemed to enjoy our eclectic style of tunes!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oct. 14, 2018, marked the 40th anniversary of Fritz’s Polka\nBand. FPB made history in 1999 by becoming the first polka band to play at a\nWoodstock Festival.  FPB appears on “The Manchurian\nCandidate”<\/em> DVD, released in 2004. FPB was inducted into the\nSyracuse Area Music Hall of Fame in 2010.  In 2011, FPB had two songs\n\u2018Grandparent\u2019s Polka\u2019 and \u2018Here Is Fritz\u2019s Polka Band\u2019) included in two\nepisodes of the TV show, \u2018Breaking Bad\u2019. In 2013, FPB released their 18th<\/sup> recording,\na double live CD entitled,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe WSKG Sessions\u201d. <\/em>In August 2018, FPB and\neach band member were again nominated for national awards by the\nCleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame (CSPHOF).  A few months ago FPB and FPB\nnamesake, Fritz Scherz were again nominated for national awards by the CSPHOF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
