As the holiday season fast approaches, so does\nGivingTuesday, an international day of giving falling on the Tuesday after\nThanksgiving. This year, the Utica Zoo has formed GivingZooWeek on Dec. 2-6, in\nconjunction with #GivingZOOday, a day to highlight the impact that members of\nThe Association of Zoos and Aquariums have on not only animals, but on their\ncommunities as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Utica Zoo has planned a series of digital events to\ncommemorate GivingZooWeek to highlight the challenges the Zoo faces throughout\nthe year and the level of impact the Zoo\u2019s work has on the community and the\nworld. The Zoo is asking the community to tune in to their social media\naccounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram Dec. 2-6 to learn more and\ndiscover new ways to help support the Zoo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The week culminates with a special fundraiser drive on\nFriday, December 6th at Holland Farms on Oriskany Blvd. in Yorkville starting\nat 6:30 a.m., with a December Holiday Night Prowl at 5pm, and Holiday Hoot on\nSaturday, Dec. 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGivingTuesday, #GivingZOOday, and GivingZooWeek are all\nvitally important parts of our fundraising efforts at the Utica Zoo,\u201d said Mark\nSimon, Marketing Coordinator at the Zoo. \u201cOur goal with GivingZooWeek is to go\nbehind the scenes to show our community the amount of hard work that it takes,\nall year round, to care for our animals, show the challenges our team faces,\nand provide clear and concise ways the community can help support our work and\nthe animals under our care. Zoos and Aquariums are the leading force behind the\nfight against extinction globally, and we want people to know they can be part\nof that fight right here at the Utica Zoo.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
