Join Blueox Energy and Gilligan\u2019s to support Friends of\nRogers on #GivingTuesday<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friends of Rogers will once again participate in\n#GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of\nindividuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to\ncelebrate generosity worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Occurring this year on Dec. 3, #GivingTuesday is held on the\nTuesday after Thanksgiving. Widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and\nCyber Monday kick off the holiday giving season, while #GivingTuesday inspires\npeople to improve their communities by donating to local charities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To encourage support of Rogers Environmental Education\nCenter, Blueox Energy will match any donation made to Friends of Rogers on\n#GivingTuesday, up to a total match amount of $500.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those interested in making a special #GivingTuesday donation\nto be matched by Blueox Energy are asked to process gifts through friendsofrogers.org\/get-involved\/#make-a-gift<\/a> anytime\nfrom midnight until 11:59 p.m. Dec. 3. You can choose to use the \u201cDonate Now\u201d\nbutton to use your credit card or the \u201cMake a Gift\u201d button to use PayPal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the fourth consecutive year, Gilligan\u2019s of Sherburne\nwill offer a #GivingTuesday opportunity in support of Rogers Center. From 4 p.m.\nuntil close, 20 percent of evening meal proceeds will be donated to Friends of\nRogers. All you do is mention Friends of Rogers or Rogers Center when you\norder, and you are helping Friends of Rogers while enjoying your meal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are extremely grateful to Blueox and Gilligan\u2019s for\npartnering with us,\u201d said Simon Solomon, executive director. \u201cWe appreciate the\nsupport of both organizations.  We hope community members take advantage\nof these special opportunities so that their financial support can have the\ngreatest impact possible at Rogers Center.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rogers Center is operated by Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization that\u00a0offers educational programs for people of all ages. Seasonal hours are from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visions Federal Credit Union and R Tree Farm sponsor\nwreath-making workshops with Friends of Rogers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join Friends of Rogers to create a festive holiday wreath\nduring one of their popular seasonal workshops Dec. 7. Three sessions will be\noffered: one begins at 9:30 a.m., another at 11:30 a.m. and the last starts at\n1:30 p.m. Participants will receive instructions and all materials necessary to\ndesign and build this traditional decoration. Participants are encouraged to\nbring a set of pruners, if you have them, and any additional decorations you\nwould like to personalize your custom creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All the greens are generously donated by R Tree Farm in\nEarlville. Visions Federal Credit Union is sponsoring the event for the third year\nin a row. The generosity of both R Tree Farm and Visions Federal Credit Union\noffset the cost of this program, making it the most affordable option in the\narea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are grateful to Visions Federal Credit Union for\npartnering with us again this year,\u201d said Solomon. \u201cThis generous investment is\ninspiring, as it has enabled us to continue this popular program for a fifth\nconsecutive year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe encourage groups of friends or family to make this a new\nholiday tradition.\u201d said Heather Tehan, director of development. \u201cWe offer\nassistance and help you make a beautiful traditional holiday decoration with\nnatural materials for only $15; it\u2019s a great program.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program is designed for ages 12 and up, for safety of\nparticipants using pruners. Space is limited; advance registration is strongly\nencouraged. Cost is $12 for members or $15 for not-yet-members. Call 607.674.4733\nto register with payment or come into the Visitor Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshops will be held in the Visitor Center on State\nRoute 80 in Sherburne; the center is accessible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
