The\nevent\u2019s footprint will be centered on the Bank of Utica and will offer numerous\nevents, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Inauguration of newly elected city officials on the main stage at 7 p.m.<\/li><li>Entertainment (bands, musicians, magician, etc.) performing on two stages.<ul><li>Main stage in the Bank of Utica drive-thru<\/li><li>Secondary stage in front of Bank of Utica<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Vendors will offer alcoholic beverages, coffee and other limited fare for sale.<\/li><li>A running countdown on a digital clock for the New Year.<\/li><li>Fireworks\u00a0display\u00a0to celebrate the New Year.<\/li><li>The footprint and the roadways therein will be closed at noon on New Year\u2019s Eve into the early morning hours of New Year\u2019s Day.<\/li><li>Temporary no parking status will be enacted within the footprint from noon on New Year\u2019s Eve into the early morning hours of New Year\u2019s Day.<\/li><li>All businesses within the footprint that are open for business\u00a0will be readily accessible.<\/li><li>Free admission to the event can be made via three entry gates\u00a0at Genesee Street\/Bank Place, Genesee Street\/Washington Street in front of the Delta Inn parking garage, and Genesee Street\/Deveraux Street.<\/li><li>Entry gates will\u00a0be managed by event security\u00a0with police oversight.<\/li><li>Attendees will be subject to a\u00a0search of their person and baggage for restricted items.<\/li><li>Attendees who are granted access to the event will be issued a wristband that must be worn at all times within the event footprint.<\/li><li>Attendees who wish to purchase or possess alcoholic\u00a0beverages within the venue must provide acceptable picture identification\u00a0at the entry gate, at which time a wristband signifying the attendee is 21 years of age or older will be issued and must be worn to possess alcohol within the venue.<\/li><li>Preferred parking options:<ul><li>Delta Inn Parking Garage (Washington Street)<\/li><li>Parking on the Delta Inn parking garage roof will be limited.<\/li><li>Kennedy Plaza parking garage (Broadway)<\/li><li>Union Street Public parking lots<\/li><li>Court Street Public parking lot beside the Bosnian Islamic Association of Utica Mosque<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Roadway\u00a0closures\u00a0(commencing at noon on New Year\u2019s Eve lasting into the early morning hours of New Year\u2019s Day):<ul><li>Genesee Street from Deveraux Street (south side of intersection) to Bank Place (north side of intersection). Note: Deveraux Street and Bank Place will be open.<\/li><li>Blandina\u00a0Street from Union Street to Genesee Street<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Additional closures will take effect for the fireworks display:<ul><li>Washington Street in its entirety.<\/li><li>Hanna Park Drive<\/li><li>Broadway from Court Street to Columbia Street<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Security guidelines:<ul><li>Weapons and fireworks are forbidden at the Bank of Utica New Year\u2019s Eve venue.<\/li><li>Alcoholic beverages to include other beverages and food will be offered for sale within the Bank of Utica New Year\u2019s Eve venue. With that being said, the following provisions have been set:<ul><li>Attendees who wish to purchase and\/or possess alcoholic beverages within the venue must be able to show acceptable picture identification upon request as well as a designated wristband displayed at all times.<\/li><li>Open air possession of alcoholic beverages will be permitted throughout the event\u2019s footprint only if contained within plastic cups.<\/li><li>Alcoholic beverages of any kind that are purchased outside of the venue will not be permitted to be brought into the event\u2019s footprint.<\/li><li>Attendees will not be allowed to carry open alcoholic beverages out of the event\u2019s footprint. Refrain from bringing bags, backpacks, coolers, packages or parcels of any kind to the Bank of Utica New Year\u2019s Eve venue.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>All baggage is subject to search by a law enforcement officer or a designated safety and security official who will tag and deem it safe to enter the venue. If individuals do not wish to have their baggage searched, they will be denied entry.<\/li><li>Due to federal regulations which govern their operation in the area of gatherings, drones and unmanned aircraft are forbidden to operate at the Bank of Utica New Year\u2019s Eve venue.<\/li><li>There will be a strong canine presence at\u00a0the Bank of Utica New Year\u2019s Eve venue;\u00a0therefore, do not\u00a0bring domestic animals to the venue.<\/li><li>Finally, we ask everyone to be alert and aware of your surroundings. \u201cIf you see something, say something,\u201d call 9-1-1 or alert law enforcement at the venue for any emergencies.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Bank of Utica New Year\u2019s Eve celebration will be held from 7 p.m. Dec. 31 to 1 a.m. Jan. 1.
