Peak beside a vehicle suffering from several gunshot\nwounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Peak was able to briefly tell the officers that he had been\nseated in his vehicle when an unknown individual approached the vehicle and\nbegan firing; he was then immediately transported to a local hospital, where he\nunderwent emergency surgery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At about 12:15 p.m., Peak died from his injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The investigation is now classified a homicide; there there\nis no suspect information, and the Utica Police Department Major Crimes Unit is\ninvestigating the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe will continue to work tirelessly to bring Mr. Peak\u2019s\nassailant to justice,\u201d said Lt.
