Brindisi listens to Oneida County, tours Atlantic Testing Laboratories, delivers Valentines for Veterans and visits Helios Remote Sensing Systems<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Congressman Anthony Brindisi visited Oneida County where he\nmet with business owners, veterans and defense contractors. Brindisi toured\nUtica\u2019s Atlantic Testing Laboratories, delivered Valentine\u2019s Day cards to local\nveterans and visited Helios Remote Sensing Systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI take the title of \u2018representative\u2019 seriously – that means\nbeing open and accessible and meeting with people in every community to make\nsure their voices are heard,\u201d Brindisi said. \u201cI heard from local business\nowners, spoke with employees who are helping strengthen our country\u2019s national\ndefense, and wished some of our brave Veterans a Happy Valentine\u2019s Day. I got a\nlot of good ideas from people on the ground, and I look forward to taking them\nback to Congress.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brindisi toured Atlantic Testing Laboratories in Utica as\npart of his \u201cBrindisi at Your Business\u201d initiative. Brindisi heard from\nemployees about their work to help control water pollution in Oneida County and\nkeep our Upstate environment safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brindisi delivered Valentine\u2019s Day cards collected through\nhis \u201cValentines for Veterans\u201d program to Veterans at the Central New York\nVeteran\u2019s Outreach Center. Brindisi launched Valentines for Veterans in late\nJanuary and received more than 2,000 homemade Valentine\u2019s Day cards from local\nstudents and families. Members of Brindisi\u2019s staff delivered Valentine\u2019s Day\ncards to Veterans in four additional locations across the 22nd District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2019, President Trump signed two pieces of\nBrindisi-authored legislation into law to help veterans: the Support for Suicide Prevention Coordinators Act<\/a> and\nthe Department of Veterans\u2019 Affairs Expiring Authorities Act of\n2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the second Brindisi at Your Business stop of the day,\nBrindisi visited Helios Remote Sensing Systems in Rome. Brindisi, a member of\nthe powerful House Armed Services Committee, toured the Helios facility and\nlearned about their partnerships with the U.S. Departments of Defense and\nHomeland Security. Brindisi vowed to continue to fight for defense contractors\nlike Helios in Rome and the Mohawk Valley. The House Armed Services\nCommittee will meet over the next few months to begin drafting the Fiscal Year\n2021 National Defense Authorization Act.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
