For those members of the public who are unable to attend, the\nmeetings will also be accessible via teleconference and webinar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both committee meetings will address the current state of\nveteran-owned small businesses and update the public on progress made toward\nadvancing veteran entrepreneurship and employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNew York State is home to nearly 1 million military\nveterans and the SBA is listening to our heroes. Together, the Trump\nAdministration is working with vetrepreneurs to ensure our growing economy\ncontinues to expand. We\u2019re accomplishing this through the SBA\u2019s training,\nfunding programs and federal contracting opportunities geared towards serving\nthe veterans\u2019 community throughout Upstate New York. This public meeting is\nyour voice to help refine the role of how the SBA can better serve those who\nhave served us,\u201d said&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sba.gov\/about-sba\/sba-team\/sba-leadership\/steve-bulger\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SBA Atlantic Regional Administrator Steve Bulger<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;who\noversees agency operations in New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the U.S.\nVirgin Islands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The public meeting will be the first for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sba.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/resources_articles\/Fran_Perez-Wilhite_Bio_Jan_2020_1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fran Perez-Wilhite<\/a>, the newly appointed ACVBA chairwoman.\nShe was elected by fellow committee members to lead the ACVBA in its mission to\nsupport veteran business affairs across the nation and provide advice and\npolicy recommendations to the SBA Administrator. A former U.S. Army officer,\nPerez-Wilhite is a business developer with the North Carolina Military Business\nCenter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re looking forward to working with Fran to bring a new\nperspective and leadership to our discussion,\u201d said&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sba.gov\/about-sba\/sba-team\/sba-leadership\/larry-stubblefield\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SBA Associate Administrator for the Office of Veterans Business\nDevelopment Larry Stubblefield<\/a>. <\/strong>\u201cThe efforts of both committees\ncontinue to positively influence SBA\u2019s veteran programs and related policy\ndecisions.
