{"id":120945,"date":"2022-11-10T10:15:46","date_gmt":"2022-11-10T15:15:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=120945"},"modified":"2022-11-10T10:16:13","modified_gmt":"2022-11-10T15:16:13","slug":"utica-police-department-announces-assault-arrest-nov-7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?p=120945","title":{"rendered":"Utica Police Department announces assault arrest Nov. 7"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On Nov. 1, 2022, at approximately 10 p.m. Utica police officers were sent to the 1500 block of Neilson Street regarding a menacing and assault investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated that as he was walking in the 1500 block of Neilson Street when a vehicle pulled up to him, and several parties with whom he is familiar exited the vehicle. The victim said a male party brandished a handgun toward him and told him not to fight back while a female began to strike him repeatedly with a metal baseball bat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-jetpack-tiled-gallery aligncenter is-style-rectangular\"><div class=\"tiled-gallery__gallery\"><div class=\"tiled-gallery__row\"><div class=\"tiled-gallery__col\" style=\"flex-basis:46.71671%\"><figure class=\"tiled-gallery__item\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" data-height=\"378\" data-id=\"120946\" data-link=\"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?attachment_id=120946\" data-url=\"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/SPhillips.png\" data-width=\"290\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/SPhillips.png?ssl=1\" data-amp-layout=\"responsive\"\/><\/figure><\/div><div class=\"tiled-gallery__col\" style=\"flex-basis:53.28329%\"><figure class=\"tiled-gallery__item\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" data-height=\"914\" data-id=\"120947\" data-link=\"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/?attachment_id=120947\" data-url=\"https:\/\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/TPhillips-788x900.png\" data-width=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/madisoncountycourier.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/TPhillips-788x900.png?ssl=1\" data-amp-layout=\"responsive\"\/><\/figure><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The victim said that while the female was striking him, he could feel the bones in his hand breaking and, as a result, he suffered a compound fracture where the bone was protruding through his skin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The victim was transported to a local hospital before being transported to a Syracuse-area hospital to address his injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on the totality of the incident, the case was assigned to an investigator with the Criminal Investigations Division, and on Nov. 7, both suspects were located and charged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tajmere Phillips, 20, of Utica, was charged with second-degree assault, and second-egree menacing.
